Passed away peacefully following a long illness during which he was lovingly cared for by Sylvia, carers (Ann-Marie, Joanne and Sarah) and the staff at Victoria Care Home, Rainford. Beloved husband of Sylvia, loving dad, grandad and great-grandad, brother, father-in-law and uncle. John touched many lives during his lifetime as Manweb District Engineer (Southport), Group Scout Leader (Lydiate), Chartered Electrical Engineer (Saudi Arabia and Yemen) and as a member of the Lodge of Stability and Submariners’ Association. John and Sylvia celebrated their diamond wedding Anniversary together in April. “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation” Psalm 91. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday October 18th at St. Andrew’s C.E. Church, Dentons Green at 2.00 p.m. followed by Committal at St. Helens Crematorium. Flowers or donations welcome.
